Pancakes for breakfast isn’t very German. But Anna and I have both traveled a lot, so we don’t need to stick to German breakfast all the time…

The last time we had our regular blog planning date, we decided to have it over breakfast and try out banana pancakes. Here’s the recipe:

Banana buttermilk pancakes
12 tablespoons of flour (we used spelt)
250m ml buttermilk
1 teaspoonful of baking powder
2 eggs
2 ripe bananas
1 pinch salt

Mix all the ingredients, except for the bananas. Instead, cut the bananas into little pieces or slices.
Heat some butter in a pan. Once it has heatened up, pour one scoop of the batter into the pan. Put some of banana pieces on top.

When the batter has gone from liquid to firm, turn-over the pancake and let it bake until golden brown from both sides. Enjoy!

We like our pancakes with different toppings. While Anna prefers chocolate syrup, I’m really into home-made applesauce. Either way, they are a great start into the day!
