Apple and cinnamon is a combination that you see everywhere around Christmas. Muffins, cookies, cake, tarte, pancakes and whatsoever…. I have to confess that I am equally someone who uses this combination quite frequently. To me it really is THE Christmas flavor and I always get excited when I start baking apple cinnamon muffins in fall.
However today I want to share another recipe. Apple cinnamon liqueur!
It takes some time to get finished, but if you start soon enough you’ll have it by Christmas and might even use it as a Christmas present.
Here’s what you need
700 ml unfiltered apple juice
1 kg sugar
5 teaspoons cinnamon (if you’re not too big a fan of cinnamon, take only 3 teaspoons)
Mix the apple juice, sugar and cinnamon in a big pot. Heat up until it boils, then let simmer for another 5 minutes. Let it cool down and then add the vodka. Stir well!
Fill the liqueur into empty bottles that can be sealed. Let it sit for 3-4 weeks.
Filter the liqueur through a tea sieve or coffee filters and fill it into nice bottles. Enjoy!
